Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your name and email address. If you register with Google, we receive this information directly from Google. If you register with email and password, we store your name, email, and a securely hashed version of your password — we never store your password in plain text.

Lesson Data

We store the lesson plans you generate, including the topic, level, lesson type, and content, so you can access them later from your account.

Usage Information

We may collect basic usage data such as pages visited and features used to help us improve the product. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide and maintain your account
• Generate and store lesson plans on your behalf
• Send important account-related emails (e.g., password reset)
• Process payments and manage your subscription plan
• Improve and develop the TopicToLesson service

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with trusted third-party service providers who help us operate the service:

• Anthropic – to power AI lesson generation (lesson content is sent to their API)
• Stripe – to process payments securely
• Google – if you choose to sign in with Google

These providers are bound by their own privacy policies and are not permitted to use your data for other purposes.

We retain your account data and lesson plans for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data and stored lessons will be permanently removed within 30 days.

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including encrypted password storage (bcrypt), HTTPS for all data in transit, and access controls on our servers. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We use a single session cookie to keep you logged in. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but this will prevent you from staying signed in.

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and data
• Export your lesson plans

TopicToLesson is intended for adults (teachers and educators). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or by displaying a notice on our website. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
